Hello out there!!!!,
PCB has been busy in the studio and the recording is sounding KIIIIIIIILLER!!!!!!
We're very excited to release it and see the end in sight. Feels goooood!!!
In some other related news. Our very own Pat Wilson wrote a song called "Poundstone" for a just nationally released film called "Southern Belles". The press release went out this week. Check it out if you get a chance!!
The director Zack Sanders writes,
"Hi all-
As some of you know, over the last three years I have been producing a film called SOUTHERN BELLES. Today, the Sundance Channel Home Entertainment and Hart Sharp Video are releasing the film on DVD! It will also premier on the Sundance Channel beginning this summer. Thank you to everyone that has come to see the movie in theaters and at festivals in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, and Vail, among others. The newly released DVD includes a bonus mockumentary featurette following up on lives of our characters two years down the road as well as production stills of the cast and crew.
For those of you unfamiliar with the movie, SOUTHERN BELLES stars Anna Faris (SCARY MOVIE 1-4, LOST IN TRANSLATION, WAITING, JUST FRIENDS, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN), Laura Breckenridge (The WB's Related) and Justin Chambers (ABC's Grey's Anatomy, THE WEDDING PLANNER). It's a farcical comedy following two beautiful, trailer-bred Southern girls, Bell (Breckenridge) and Belle (Faris), looking to break out of their small town lives. Determined to make it to the big city of Atlanta, they plot a series of half-baked moneymaking schemes to fund their adventure. But their plans get derailed when Bell falls for a handsome police officer named Rhett Butler (Chambers). The film also stars Frederick Weller (THE SHAPE OF THINGS, Broadway's Glengary Glen Ross), Tony Award Nominee Heather Goldenhersh (Broadway's Doubt, KINSEY, MERCHANT OF VENICE), and Independent Spirit Award Nominee and stand-up comic Judah Friedlander (AMERICAN SPLENDOR, THE DARWIN AWARDS).
Please help us spread the word to friends, family and co-workers. Early word of mouth can make a big difference. Retailers judge the film's potential based on the initial interest, so any purchasing near the release date would be much appreciated. The film is available to order now on Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com and Target.com. It is also available for rent and purchase at Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Netflix and many other major retailers.
For more information on the movie, including a trailer, please check out our website. (www.southernbelles-movie.com)"

Hellllllllooooooo poppycockers!!! Yesterday was an eventful day for all of us here at the babble headquaters. Mad thunder was laid down by our famous powerhouse rhythm section. A few hours was spent setting the drums up and miking the kit. Dimitri, our cool and collected engineer said it was the most mics he's ever used on a set! aahhhhh.....leave it up to us...
Although it was a long day, the blueprint of our last two songs are now on hardrive!! Over the next month and a half, we will be completing all the vocal and guitar tracks among other interesting possiblities...hmmmm.....would this vacuum cleaner sound cool miked? ..ha!!
Later this week we will be posting some pictures from the day. The pics don't even do the studio justice. It is an absolutely gorgeous hidden gem buried in the heart of Villanova. It's truly an attitude free and inspiring environment. Dimitri is a very patient and cool guy, which is crucial to have when recording. Nice.
In the pics, check out Ryan channeling drum vibrations from Frank Beard and Jason's pure intensity in the drum room....man,...he's on fire!!!!! SweeeeeEEEEEET!!!!
We will be posting more pics of future sessions. Stay tuned!!

What's the latest? ..ahhh....... PCB is in the studio!! Feb. 19th we will be laying down the last two songs. ooohhhhh...so nice.... We were scheduled for Jan. but dates never seemed to jive with the band and the engineer. Only four weekends in a month.....hmmmmm...not enough... The studio is awesome and we will be posting pictures soon of the sessions. Also, poppycock 's very own "Stick Song" is featured on an upcoming AMC movie channel promo!! For a beautiful 30 seconds you will hear some poppycock fury backing up the classic cool of a Clint Eastwood Commercial...ahhh..make my day!!!!!...It will be aired soon and will play in commercial breaks for the next couple of weeks. Dirty Harry and PCB...a perfect match.................

Hello to all. Some people say that poppycockbabble is as old as dirt, ...not quite..but we are celebrating our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY this November!!!!! ....yes, it's been a quick and enjoyable 10 years since we found the last piece of our poppycock puzzle, the great Ryan "Thor" Donohue. Ryan was a meek teen-ager when we met him, but when he sat down behind the drums,.....Boooo Yaahhhhh!!!!!! ... here comes the thunder! Poppycock was finally realized. We want to thank all the people that have come and enjoyed the shows over the years. We've had our ups and downs. Got close to getting signed, ...then signed ourselves!! Go Medical Records!!! Ha!!!! ....Again, thanks for the support and being involved more or less in a passion we all share as bandmates and best friends.
The recording in Villanova is a go and will begin at the end of the month. With holidays and scheduling, we plan on finishing up in early January. We are very excited. We will try to post some pictures of the process on the site. Stay tuned........

It's been awhile since our last post so we thought we'd give ya an update. Well,.... we finally have new Teeeeeeeeee's! Ask about them at upcoming shows. Different colors and two new designs. They are going fast and we will need to re-order soon. Sweeeeeeet! Thanks for the support. Our upcoming Grape Street show will unfortunately not be a CD release party but we will be debuting yet another song. We are excited about the new bunch and hope you dig them all the same. We met some great people at the N.Y. show at Arlene's. We appreciate anyone who made the journey into the city that night. It was a great night and although we played a little early we had a good time. ....Ryan's brief case of rickets and Jason and Pat getting attacked by clowns put the recording back a BIT..... But, it is still moving forward. Anyone know how to set a two week tour up in Europe? We want to go. ...ahhhhhh......I can't believe it's going to be August already! The summer is fly'in. Hope all is well with anyone who is reading this and ....ok...people who aren't. ..but seriously,....is MTV cancer to good music?........

Poppycock wants to thank all the people that joined us at The Grapestreet show. We premiered two new songs that we are excited about and they seemed to get a great response. Thank You! These two songs will finish the long awaited album which is nearing completion. We've had a very productive writing streak and new songs will be popping up quite often in the near future.
On a differnet note, the award-winning film LOGGERHEADS, which premiered at Sundance this past Feb. will be showing at the 19th Street Theatre in Allentown, Pa. Opening night is Sat. May 28th at 7:00 and it runs through to Sun. June 5th. Poppycock's very own Pat Wilson did the sound editing and sound design for the film. The opening night has special tickets available for $50.00 that includes the movie, a T-Shirt, drinks, food, a donation to AIDS research, and the best part,..... an acoustic performance by Pat and Jason of POPPYCOCKBABBLE.......NICE....

We want to thank everyone for coming out to the Funhouse this past Friday. Someone parked our ambulance in so we couldn't start packing up until 3:30! ahhh.. the joys of the late late night....
An update on the long awaited CD is that it will be worked on again after the new year. We are playing around with new songs and deciding on the last two or three songs we want to record. mmmmm....soon....
We're looking forward to the Grape Street show on Jan. 7th so definitely come out and spend a night in Manyunk. If you've never been to the new location it's a must to check out.
So from all of us here at the poppycock ranch... have a great holiday and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

We want to thank everyone who came out to the Grape Street and joined us on our first show at the new location. It was a great night (a loud one at that!) and we hope to see you there in the future.
Ryan just laid down some mad drums on our future gold album hit "In My Favor" yesterday afternoon. The album is coming along nicely and in about two weeks we should have eight completely recorded songs. Gettin' there. Gigs are a little sparse for the next two months (although we are playing some interesting private shows) due to concentrating on the album...I mean CD. Is the word album outdated or cool oldschool? mmmmm.. ..as always we thank everyone for their support . Oh yeah, some new threads are coming too....Stay tuned.
What's the latest with poppycock? -- Posted by pat on Friday, July 23 2004
First, poppycockbabble wants to congratulate Jason at In-Phase Productions on his big move to North Carolina in September. If you don't know Jason, he has been building up his studio in Bethlehem for the last couple of years and has earned the title of "kick-ass engineer and one hell of a guy" . He made a difference for a lot of bands in the local music scene. We will be throwing a party at The Sterling for him on Friday Aug. 13th. Yes,...Friday the 13th. ...Jason will be there..... There will be four bands including, ..yes.. poppycock.
